WisperTel reaches 1,000 subscriber milestone

The need for broadband connectivity has never been greater. Today, everyone is using the Internet for banking, music, shopping, software updates, research, shipment tracking, entertainment, games, work-at-home Virtual Private Networking (VPN), Small Office / Home Office (SOHO) applications, e-mail, instant messaging and other forms of communications. It doesn't take long for an Internet user to discover that their only limitation is the speed of their connection.

WisperTel President/CEO Barry Pier said that WisperTel’s growth was faster than many expected. Pier said one of the reasons for our rapid growth is the “value” our subscribers receive compared with other carriers.

We guarantee you get the speeds you contract for as compared with the cable company that can not guarantee any speeds as they use a shared network. Satellite services no longer serve as a “true” broadband connection. Telephone company DSL services are not available in many of our markets.

Another part of the value we provide to our subscribers includes virus protection, multiple email addresses, web-hosting, and newsgroup access. One feature our subscribers really like is that we don’t limit e-mail sizes or file attachment sizes. This is important to home office users or those sending digital pictures.

Pier said this is an important milestone for WisperTel. We certainly are meeting market demand but our highly professional team has worked very hard to get us to this point. We have only lost 6-8 subscribers during this period, and most of those were lost because they wanted service and were on the “edge” of our coverage.
